Several updates have been made that allow you to send cash payments from patients to BillFlash so that their accounts at BillFlash coincide with their accounts in Lytec.
Best Practices
- Use proper care and consideration regarding which users are granted access in the User Security Profile to make changes or deletions for “Apply Patient Payments” and “Billing/Charges and Payments”.
- Each day OfficePay or ePay are used, generate the Payment Transaction Report from the BillFlash website, which will show the payment transactions for the day, and carefully match those payments to the Day Sheet to verify everything was posted in Lytec correctly and completely. This is an important step to reconcile between the BillFlash entries and Lytec entries to remain in balance.
- Be certain that the Audit Trail is enabled, so changes or deletions can be reviewed if a problem is detected at a later date.
